Slant Boards
Slant Boards
Slant
boards can be of great benefit at your work station, or while reading
and studying. To avoid serious back and neck pain or injury, use
a slant board to prop up your files, papers, books etc. Avoid bending
your neck down when at all possible. Slant boards can be placed
at the top of your computer’s keyboard to allow direct sight
to your work. If you are a student, often times you will have to
study hours on end. The strain you put on your neck while bending
your head down over your textbook for such long hours could produce
headaches and neck aches that could be avoided if using a slant
board to prop up your textbook.
RSI, or repetitive strain injury, is a concern among doctors and
chiropractors and is now considered a major industrial injury. Many
companies have realized that RSI is an issue and they are very careful
to provide the necessary equipment and education for their employees
to avoid RSI. If you need a slant board at work, ask the appropriate
person in charge of supplies to purchase one for you. Not only will
it benefit you, but will also benefit the company in reducing “at
work injury” that they may be liable for.
Slant boards are made in all shapes, sizes, colors and styles to
suit just about every taste and need. For work, you can find slant
boards that are clear in order to see behind the board if need be.
If you are at home reading on your bed, there are attractive styles
of slant boards to go with the décor of your room that you
can prop on your legs or pillow. They can be used whether you are
in the home or at the office and fit perfectly on any desk or table.
